Field Tested, Shop Refined: A Technical Update

When we took ownership of Pristine in 2024, we didn't arrive with a plan to reinvent the wheel. We arrived with a checklist.

We did not have the luxury of stopping the world to perform a "ground-up" redesign. Instead, we have spent the last 18 months optimizing, testing, and refining the platform in real-time. We’ve kept our ears open at the range and in our inbox, making rolling changes based on what the dirt, the data, and our customers have been telling us.

If you have been following along, or have picked up one of our actions recently, you are looking at a platform that has been systematically refined from the inside out. Here is a breakdown of the technical changes we have implemented and what we are currently working on in the shop.

CURRENT UPDATES

Transitioning to a 2-Lug bolt head - One notable change is that all of our new Lightweight and Heavy receivers are now built around the traditional 2-lug bolt head. While the 6-lug configuration has its place and remains available for those who prefer it, the market demand for a traditional option was clear to us, and we have pivoted in that direction.

Reinforced Bolt Handles - In a high-pressure environment, the bolt handle should be the last thing on your mind. We have substantially increased the handle thickness on our new 2-lug receivers to ensure maximum structural integrity. This update provides the extra "meat" needed for heavy-duty use, ensuring that reliability is never a question mark.

Integral Recoil Lugs - We have moved to an integral recoil lug on all new Lightweight and Heavy receivers. By machining the lug as part of the receiver body, we eliminate a variable in the build process and create a more rigid, simplified platform for the shooter.

Improved Tang Geometry - Compatibility matters. We’ve redesigned the tang on our new integral lineup to be more compatible with industry-standard aftermarket stocks and chassis. This reduces the need for custom inletting and ensures a cleaner fit right out of the box.

Enhanced Material Treatment -     Reliable performance is found in the small parts. We’ve implemented new treatment processes for our extractor claws to increase resilience and updated the material treatment on our roller cocking pieces to ensure a smoother cycle and a longer service life.

Long Action Rail Options - For those pushing the Long Action platform to its limits, we’ve added a 30 MOA rail option to ensure you have the elevation needed for extreme long-range.

    WHAT’S IN THE WORKS

Our "to-do" list didn't end with the current production run. We are currently in the prototyping and testing phase for several new features and upgrades. Our        mini-length action testing is still ongoing, and there are more bolt head offerings for our 2-lug actions coming soon.

I have a number of other things in the works but will save those details for another time as we perfect some of the details!

Follow along for more information as we continue to push the platform forward.
